Before you come out
Build your truck for the trail
Explore the build, then work through what we require and recommend in each category before your first run.
Use the arrows to rotate the truck. Tap a marker to jump to that requirement.
Mentality
Positive Attitude
There’s no reason to do this except to have fun!
We can’t stress this enough. The number one thing to bring is a positive attitude. The rest will come easy. We are a family focused group. So bring your wife/SO, kids, parents, or friends along for the ride! (Minimum age limit: 6)
Patience
We will never leave you out on the trails
Trails and offroad driving can sometimes extend our day past our expectations. We will work together as a group so everyone gets on and off the trail safely. We stay together and never leave anyone behind.
Responsibility
Offroading is about responsibility and community
If a participant needs help, stop and assist however you can. Call it out on the radio, stay with them if needed, and wait for additional support to arrive. We come on and off the trails together.
Driving
Safety always comes first
Follow posted speed limits, drive within your abilities, and respect the areas we travel through. Leave every trail better than you found it by picking up trash whenever possible. Lead and sweep trucks will always have trash bags available upon request.
Communication
VHF Radio
Reliable communications is one of the most important tools you can bring on the trail
A hardwired 50+ watt VHF radio is required for all events. Reliable communication keeps the group connected, helps relay trail cautions and turns, and ensures nobody misses important call-outs while on the trail. Please contact us for compatible radio options and kits that include radios with our private channels pre-programmed.
Starlink
Disconnecting from the world is nice. But having communication in remote areas still matters
While not required, Starlink is highly recommended for longer or more remote adventures. It allows you to stay connected for navigation, weather updates, emergency communication, and important check-ins when traveling through areas with little to no cell service. We have kits available to properly mount and secure your Starlink.
Lighting
Dust Lighting
The most important lights on your truck face the rear
Amber, rear facing dust lighting is required for our events. This lighting is an incredible safety tool when the dust starts flying. Taillights will disappear but you can easily spot the truck in front of you with high-mounted amber dust lighting.
Bumper Lighting
The trails don’t end when the sun goes down
While not required, quality aftermarket front lighting is highly recommended for many of our events. The main location for this is on the front bumper/grill area. Additional lighting improves visibility, helps identify obstacles sooner, and reduces driver fatigue when traveling after dark or in poor weather conditions.
Ditch (A-Pillar) Lighting
Not every obstacle comes from head on
While not required, ditch lights are a valuable addition for offroad travel. They improve visibility along the sides of the trail, making it easier to spot obstacles, wildlife, washouts, and trail markers that may not be visible with forward-facing lighting alone.
Fog Lighting
Offroad and every day use
For vehicles retaining their factory bumper, upgraded fog lights are one of the best improvements you can make. They provide a wider, lower beam pattern that helps illuminate trail edges, terrain changes, dust, and poor weather conditions without the need for a full aftermarket bumper setup.
Storage
Bed Storage
There’s no single right way to set up your truck bed
Bed storage is one of the most important parts of vehicle preparation. From vertical and horizontal tire racks, recovery gear storage, strap tie downs, coolers and more, there are many ways to safely carry gear on the trail. If you’re unsure what works best for your vehicle, travel style, or budget, reach out and we’ll help you build a setup that fits your needs.
In-Cab Storage
The gear you need most, made easy to reach
A well-organized cab makes every trip safer and more enjoyable. Recovery gear, radios, first aid supplies, navigation tools, snacks, and personal items should be stored securely and within easy reach. There are countless ways to organize your interior, and we’re happy to help you find a solution that works for your vehicle and travel style.
Tools & Extras
Basic Tools
The basics are a necessity
A basic set of hand tools can solve many common trail issues. Even simple items like sockets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and electrical repair supplies can make a major difference when problems arise. We carry comprehensive tool kits, trail mechanics, and more, but everyone should have the basics.
Recovery Gear
No one wants to get stuck, but it happens a lot!
Not required, but every vehicle should think about having basic recovery equipment before heading offroad, especially if alone. Recovery straps, soft shackles, gloves, possibly traction boards, and other essential gear can help safely resolve common situations and keep the group moving. Admins always carry all of this.
Spare Parts
A little less common, but a lot more valuable
We don’t expect everyone to carry common spare parts for Raptors. Let us do that. But, if you want, it’s never a bad idea to consider smaller items like a tie rod, spare hose clamps, fuses, assorted nuts/bolts for your suspension and other small items. Chase truck/trailer carries a large assortment of spare parts.
Spare Fluids
Something as easy as topping off your coolant can save the day
Again optional, carrying a few basic fluids is inexpensive insurance when offroad. Engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid can help address minor issues before they become major problems. A quick top-off on the trail is often all it takes to keep an adventure moving.
