Please purchase this Kenwood speaker when purchasing your Kenwood NX-1700 or NX-5700 radio. When mounting the radio itself, the internal included speaker will not be easily heard when driving offroad. You need this external speaker, which utilizes the existing 3.5mm jack on the 1700, or requires the additional MOLEX adapter for the 5700 (only), and hear all the radio comms you need when driving, listening to music, windows down, etc!
Most mount the speaker underneath the driver or passenger seats facing forward.
